Goa & Hampi 900 - Combined Tour

On this tour we delve into Goa and Karnataka, passing through some of south India’s most stunning scenery and cultural sights. We venture from Vasco de Gama in north Goa to the magical lost kingdom of Hampi in central Karnataka, finishing off on the stunning Talpona beach in the south of Goa famous for its nesting turtles and white sands. This is a combined tour - both minibus and motorcycle transport options are available (see Motorcycle Tours for full motorcycle details).

After two days acclimatising on the beaches of North Goa, we spend time in the luscious jungle of Dandeli and take a boat down the western ghats before setting off to Badami - where we explore the ancient rock temples. Next comes Hampi with its ruined city and magical boulder-strewn landscape. It was once the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire and is a World Heritage sight. Those who make the journey here acoss the Deccan are richly rewarded. We take three days here to explore this ancient town, temples and the surrounding villages before heading west back to the Arabian sea, stopping en-route for a little luxury at Hubli. Our trip ends in Talpona, south Goa, where we stay in beach huts just yards from the sea. The ‘Peace Garden’ hotel is well known for its fresh seafood and excellent yoga facilities. We use this fabulous setting as a base for the last three days of our trip. Choose from either relaxing on the beach, making the most of beach-side yoga and treatments or joining the daily organised excursions.

This is a wonderful journey that combines several of India's most fascinating historical sights with stunning wildlife and some of Goa's best beaches. Motorcycle and minibus options are available on this tour.

I think we were all left with the feeling we had experienced India in a way that would be impossible on a normal package tour. We met local people in their home environment. We stayed in a variety of individual hotels. I recommend the Glorious Adventure Company to anyone prepared to step outside their normal comfort zone to try a more exciting and varied holiday with a small group of different ages and interests who become good friends by the time of the flight home.
